Clint Eastwood’s illustrious film career, both behind and in front of the camera, has spanned more than a half century and has touched generations of filmgoers across the globe. The filmmaker/actor has won five Academy Awards , while his films have grossed nearly $2 billion at the domestic box office. The collection, considered the largest feature film box set ever released for a single artist, contains 35 classic Eastwood films from the Warner library, and highlights the breadth and depth of his extraordinary work. The box set will span from Where Eagles Dare (1968), through to Invictus (2010). The set includes the classic Dirty Harry movies, Oscar winners and nominees such as Mystic River and Unforgiven, the westerns that propelled him to fame, gritty war movies including Letters From Iwo Jima and Flags of Our Fathers, classic comedies such as Every Which Way But Loose, and many more besides. An additional film is The Eastwood Factor. An intimate short film from Time magazine critic and film historian Richard Schickel, The Eastwood Factor gives viewers a rare insight into the life of the filmmaker and actor. Eastwood’s candid, intelligent and often humorous interviews about his work, along with Schickel’s selection of scenes from his movies, result in an up-close and personal portrait of one of the great icons of our era. The documentary offers a clear reminder of why Eastwood’s career as both a great filmmaker and actor has been so enduring, and his work so respected. Eastwood’s relationship with Warner Bros. began in 1975 with the signing of a long-term pact, and Eastwood’s Malpaso Productions moved onto the studio’s lot. Among the many awards the actor/filmmaker has received for his work are four Oscars and 11 nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director Academy Award wins.
