Almost everything we bake has to start with some type of flour which contains small particles that never get underneath the surface of the scale. You don’t need to clean underneath a glass top. The metal surface also is not removable and does not come off. Which means you don’t have to hold on to it so it does not fall when you change the batteries. Everything stays intact. We use big bowls to measure large quantities of food items.
