Vitra Panton Chair White, Verner Panton 1999

The Panton Chair was designed by Verner Panton for the brand Vitra.The chair has won several major awards and still features the iconic, ergonomic S-shape which caused universal acclaim at the Cologne Furniture Fair in 1967. Although Verner Panton visualised the design for this chair in 1960, his dreams of fabricating the stacking seat from one piece of moulded plastic were difficult to put into practice. He managed to partner with Vitra in 1963, and the first Panton Chairs were mass produced in polyurethane foam by 1967. The 1967 Danish PH Prize was the first of many awards Verner Panton received for his unique, and stylish new chair.The Panton Chair is easily stacked, due to its cantilever design and the fact that it has no back legs. This makes it perfect for any office or home, and it's also a great addition to any garden or patio layout. It's available in a variety of colours, while its unique appearance ensures it never looks out of place, even in the grandest settings. The chair is made from polypropylene, and measures 50 x 83 x 61 cm, and has a seat height of 41cm.
